HP Elitebook 2760p vs Lenovo ThinkPad X220T vs Microsoft Surface Pro:Best fit for use is....................

HP Elitebook 2760p                                                                                                                               The 12.1-inch diagonal, wide-view touchscreen is perfect for mobile professionals who need to stay connected and productive. The 2760P has a solid hardware configuration, 4 GB of RAM and you can even expand it with an optical drive. Anyway, there a couple of customization options available, including an extra battery slice, The chemically-strengthened glass screen extends about a quarter inch beyond the display area (1280×800, 12.1″ diagonal) all around with capacitive touch recognition throughout. This makes it easy to touch on-screen items located near the edge of the screen. The 2760p is almost exactly the same as the predecessor 2740p, but it offers a choice of Intel 2nd generation (Sandy Bridge) mobile Core i5/i7 processorswith base speeds ranging from 2.20 to 2.80GHz. I say "base speeds" because one of the 2nd gen Intel' Core processors' interesting features is "TurboBoost," a technology that automatically overclocks the processor under certain circumstances. Interestingly, while the old 2730p used low voltage or ultra-low voltage versions of the Intel Core 2 Duo processors, the new 2760p uses standard voltage chips running at much higher clock speeds. That's good for performance, and with the 2nd gen provessoer's excellent power management, it doesn't come at the expense of battery life. The new EliteBook also promises to be more than speedy. HP claims the 2760p meets military standards (810G) for drop, vibration, dust, temperature, shock, altitude and high temperature. That doesn’t mean the new EliteBook is a rugged tablet, but it does mean it should easily shrug off the wear and tear of everyday business use.  The HP EliteBook 2760p features a sturdy metal chassis for extra durability. Three USB 2.0 ports, a four-conductor FireWire port, and a VGA port may seem slightly outdated, but provide ample connectivity for most users. However, the device does include a fingerprint reader for added security, a feature that is especially attractive to business professionals who need to protect sensitive business documents and information. With a comfortable keyboard and a sensitive touchpad and touchscreen, the EliteBook 2760p is an excellent choice for buyers. The 2760p is a convertible laptop with a 12.1-inch convertible screen that flips around for users to take notes using a pen input. With a 6-cell battery and a hard drive, the laptop provides 8.5 hours of HP EliteBook 2760p battery life.

However, this means it can fit in a heck of a lot more connectivity and one of the nicest keyboards on any ultraportable.Classic ThinkPad design in a compact package, amazing battery life, and the latest Intel processors make the Lenovo ThinkPad X220 a standout travel laptop. Intel Core i5 processor outpaces the competition. Largest hard drive in its class. Rugged, ergonomic design. Superb physical keyboard and pointing controls. Melds Windows 7 with a versatile combination of touch and physical controls. The X220 Tablet features a 12.5-inch IPS display (1366 x 768) and ships with optional Gorilla glass for increased ruggedness. The X220 Tablet also boasts a webcam, backlight LED technology, dual microphones and even a fingerprint reader. It includes a software suite and runs Microsoft Windows 7 Professional operating system. On the digitizer side, multi-touch has become pretty much mandatory even though, in all honesty, it doesn't do that much (yet) on a Windows machine. But the X220 has it, and it even works in conjunction with an active pen. Lenovo quotes a battery life of up to 9 hours with the 6-cell battery that's supplied as standard and up to 16 hours with the optional 9-cell battery.
The 1,366 x 768 resolution means the screen can manage 720p high-definition. Needless to say, the screen isn't really suited to watching movies. It's bright enough, but the crispness and colour isn't what you'd find on a dedicated media laptop. The touch-pad-pointing-stick combo remains an awkward compromise, and as with most ThinkPads you're paying a hefty premium for the sturdy case and business-friendly software.
THE BOTTOM LINE For a business laptop, this is the gold standard. Everyday users will want to look elsewhere, but the ThinkPad X220 is one of the best choices for the business executive. The Lenovo ThinkPad X220 packs in a new Intel Core i5 CPU and can run all day (depending on how you use it). With a 12.5-inch display, it's just a bit smaller than a 13-inch laptop, and it feels like an excellent compromise for frequent travelers.                                                                                                                                     Specs:                                                                                                                                                          Intel Core i5 2520M processor at 2.5 GHz

As a hybrid PC it's an undeniable compromise - but that's no bad thing. The Microsoft Surface Pro fits a full ultrabook experience in a compact 10-inch tablet. Thanks to the ingenious Type and Touch covers, it offers a comfortable interface and typing experience. The clean, crisp design and sharp 1080p screen rise above the competition.
But, The battery life is disappointing, and more ports would be nice. The 64GB model barely has any free storage. It costs as much as a regular laptop, especially because the cool keyboard cover isn't included by default.
The bottom line: The Surface Pro's gutsy design successfully reinvents the Windows 8 laptop by cramming an ultrabook experience into the body of a 10-inch tablet. Those wanting to go all-in on the tablet experience won't regret buying the Surface Pro, but we're holding out for a future, more polished generation of the device.
