Asus Eee Slate EP121 vs HP Elitebook 2760p vs Microsoft Surface Pro:Best performer is.........................

Asus Eee Slate EP121                                                                                                                                 This Windows 7 tablet is aimed far more at professionals than those looking for their daily hit of Angry Birds. The 1,280x800 display resolution looks sharp and is large enough to watch native 720p video or browse the web with minimal horizontal scrolling. High Definition playback was impressively smooth thanks to Intel’s integrated graphics, which can also output to an external display using the mini-HDMI port.  With a sharp design and a powerful Intel Core i5 CPU, theAsus Eee Slate EP121 is a Windows tablet that doesn't feel like a toy.
but,The battery life is terrible. While we accept that this is due to the high-performance CPU and large screen, it doesn't make it a particularly easy pill to swallow. Starting at about $1,000, this is a lot more expensive than some other popular tablets, and no matter how good the hardware, Window 7 just isn't made for fingertip input.
THE BOTTOM LINE Asus has a fresh take on the oft-maligned Windows tablet in the fast-running Eee Slate EP121, a touch-screen slate coupled with its own Bluetooth keyboard.                                                 Key Features: 12.1in 1,280 x 800 IPS display, Gorilla Glass ; Intel Core i5-470UM, 4GB RAM, 64GB SSD ; Capacitive screen, Wacom digitizer with stylus; USB 2.0 and mini-HDMI, Bluetooth; Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Manufacturer: Asus                                                                                                                         Price:$999
VS                                                                                                                                                             HP Elitebook 2760p                                                                                                                                    The 12.1-inch diagonal, wide-view touchscreen is perfect for mobile professionals who need to stay connected and productive. The 2760P has a solid hardware configuration, 4 GB of RAM and you can even expand it with an optical drive. Anyway, there a couple of customization options available, including an extra battery slice, The chemically-strengthened glass screen extends about a quarter inch beyond the display area (1280×800, 12.1″ diagonal) all around with capacitive touch recognition throughout. This makes it easy to touch on-screen items located near the edge of the screen. The 2760p is almost exactly the same as the predecessor 2740p, but it offers a choice of Intel 2nd generation (Sandy Bridge) mobile Core i5/i7 processorswith base speeds ranging from 2.20 to 2.80GHz. I say "base speeds" because one of the 2nd gen Intel' Core processors' interesting features is "TurboBoost," a technology that automatically overclocks the processor under certain circumstances. Interestingly, while the old 2730p used low voltage or ultra-low voltage versions of the Intel Core 2 Duo processors, the new 2760p uses standard voltage chips running at much higher clock speeds. That's good for performance, and with the 2nd gen provessoer's excellent power management, it doesn't come at the expense of battery life. The new EliteBook also promises to be more than speedy. HP claims the 2760p meets military standards (810G) for drop, vibration, dust, temperature, shock, altitude and high temperature. That doesn’t mean the new EliteBook is a rugged tablet, but it does mean it should easily shrug off the wear and tear of everyday business use.  The HP EliteBook 2760p features a sturdy metal chassis for extra durability. Three USB 2.0 ports, a four-conductor FireWire port, and a VGA port may seem slightly outdated, but provide ample connectivity for most users. However, the device does include a fingerprint reader for added security, a feature that is especially attractive to business professionals who need to protect sensitive business documents and information. With a comfortable keyboard and a sensitive touchpad and touchscreen, the EliteBook 2760p is an excellent choice for buyers. The 2760p is a convertible laptop with a 12.1-inch convertible screen that flips around for users to take notes using a pen input. With a 6-cell battery and a hard drive, the laptop provides 8.5 hours of HP EliteBook 2760p battery life.

As a hybrid PC it's an undeniable compromise - but that's no bad thing. The Microsoft Surface Pro fits a full ultrabook experience in a compact 10-inch tablet. Thanks to the ingenious Type and Touch covers, it offers a comfortable interface and typing experience. The clean, crisp design and sharp 1080p screen rise above the competition.
But, The battery life is disappointing, and more ports would be nice. The 64GB model barely has any free storage. It costs as much as a regular laptop, especially because the cool keyboard cover isn't included by default.
The bottom line: The Surface Pro's gutsy design successfully reinvents the Windows 8 laptop by cramming an ultrabook experience into the body of a 10-inch tablet. Those wanting to go all-in on the tablet experience won't regret buying the Surface Pro, but we're holding out for a future, more polished generation of the device.
